Gala Concert for Victims of the Nepal Earthquake
In response to the tragic situation in Nepal after a terrible earthquake destroyed vast parts of Kathmandu, Corinne Morris and pianist Alicja Fiederkiewicz decided to gather a group of distinguished musician-friends including Artur Pizarro, Muray McLachlan, Viv Mclean, Nico de Villiers, Carlo Grante and composer Keith Burstein, to perform for a Gala fundraising concert in London on 29th May 2015.
The event was warmly received by the audience including MP Steve Pound who introduced the evening.
The entire proceeds, over £3,500 raised using the crowdfunding site Indiegogo, were given to the DEC, the Disasters Emergency Committee. They have the manpower and infrastructure on location to distribute the funds to the aid agencies in Nepal.
Below is the live recording of the Nepalese National Anthem, a special arrangement written for the occasion.
